Rediscovering Karachi Diocese - Church leaders joined hands against corrupt mafia

Karachi (PR): The Karachi Diocese’ voiced against Advocate General (AG) Sindh for misusing his position and requested the high ups to remove him from the position.

While addressing a press conference, the priests from the Karachi Dioceses including Rev. Sarwar Eric, Rev. Shafique Kanwal flanked by their legal advisors said that property mafias eye on precious lands and property of the Church of Karachi valuing trillions of rupees.

The clergy complained about the interference of political elite in Church matters and hatching conspiracies against the Church of Pakistan in Karachi. They claimed that after the recently retired Bishop Sadiq Daniel, the resourceful people from either side using the AG Sindh Salman Talibuddin has eye on the Church properties. The AG Sindh misusing his position to grab the precious land of the Church.

In a statement issued, the Church leaders claimed that some of the PPP sitting ministers from the Sindh cabinet and a Christian parliamentarian Anthony Naveed are backing the AG Sindh.

They demanded the apex court to take action against the AG Sindh and investigate the matter.   

They also appealed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to take notice of these conspiracies. They demanded that AG Salman Talibuddin should be immediately removed to save precious properties and the new Bishop is elected as per aspirations of community and not on whims of the land mafia.

They warned the handlers that if their demands are not met they would protest strongly.
